After lunch at Sandiago’s Mexican Grill nestled in the Sandia Mountains of New Mexico, the Sandia Peak Tram takes us above canyons and scenic terrain as we travel 2.7 miles to the top of the mountain. An observation deck offers panoramic views of the Rio Grande Valley and Cibola National Forest. We arrive at our hotel in Albuquerque with time to freshen up before heading out to the Balloon Fiesta grounds for the Special Shape GlowDeo where balloons depicting a multitude of characters fill and illuminate the evening hours of the balloon field. We’ll end the day with an AfterGlow Fireworks show before returning to our hotel for the night.
In Santa Fe we will begin with a guided city tour that includes a stop at Loretto Chapel to see the Miraculous Staircase which has no nails or visible means of support and the carpenter remains a mystery. Enjoy some free time on the “Plaza” and visit the Palace of the Governors built in the early 17th century.
We will end with the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center owned and operated by the 19 Pueblo Tribes of New Mexico to view craftsmanship and art of the Pueblo world.
